Classification:

Mechanical log grapple: Driven by the excavator bucket cylinder, there is no need to modify the excavator pipeline and hydraulic system, so the cost is relatively low. With a relatively simple structure, it mainly relies on the mechanical structure to achieve the grabbing action. The opening and closing of the gripper are controlled by the extension and retraction of the bucket cylinder. It is suitable for occasions where the requirements for grabbing accuracy and flexibility are not high and the working environment is relatively simple.

Hydraulic log grapple: Driven by hydraulic oil, they can be divided into 360° rotating hydraulic wood grapplers and non - rotating hydraulic wood grapplers. The 360° rotating hydraulic wood grapplers require the addition of two sets of hydraulic valve blocks and pipelines on the excavator for control. They can achieve 360 - degree rotation, which is convenient for grabbing operations in different directions, improving work efficiency and flexibility. They are suitable for scenarios where the grabbing direction needs to be changed frequently. The non - rotating hydraulic wood grapplers only need to add one set of hydraulic valve blocks and pipelines. Although they cannot rotate, they have the advantages of relatively simple structure and low cost, and are suitable for occasions where the rotation function is not highly required.
